Geothermal systems, also known as ground source heat pumps, utilize the energy stored in the ground to heat and cool buildings.

These systems utilize loops of coolant buried as shallow as 6 feet to harness the energy from the relatively constant temperature of the earth. These systems can provide up to an 80% reduction in heating and cooling costs. Geothermal systems are designed to last over 50 years with very little maintenance.  Typically, a geothermal system will pay for itself in only 5-8 years, providing years of comfort without the need for fossil fuel heating and minimal electricity use in the summer months.
